CDLC not submitted to CustomsForge

These are my versions of CDLCs already on CustomsForge:

  1. Amy Winehouse – Back to Black
  2. Belle & Sebastian – Funny Little Frog
  3. Duran Duran – A View To A Kill
  4. Duran Duran – Is There Something I Should Know
  5. Duran Duran – Notorious
  6. Fleetwood Mac – The Chain (currently has a long intro – I will fix this)
  7. Kaiser Chiefs – Ruby (didn’t realise this was ODLC when it was requested…)
  8. Thompson Twins – Hold Me Now (No idea why I didn’t publish this)
  9. U2 – Bad (Live Aid)
  10. Whitesnake – Ain’t No Love In The Heart Of The City (Live)

  1. Hello James, thank you for sharing all these files with us Rocksmith users. CDLC has made it more enjoyable for me.

Do you by any chance take requests? I would gladly pay per song 😀

      1. Thanks James, yes that is true! 🙂 If anything, it Rocksmith should be compensating the creators – they (you) are the reason the product has a thriving community! CDLC is truly a feature (maybe a debate for another day/forum). It really is akin to the main feature of youtube (i.e. encouraging the crowd to produce content), albeit “unofficial” here.

        Well, here’s my wishlist:

        Brand New Heavies
Midnight at the Oasis (there’s a link on customsforge, but the file is gone)
        Never Stop
        You are the Universe
        Dream on Dreamer
        Back to Love
        Stay this Way
        You’ve got a friend

        Where Did we go wrong
        Beneath the surface
        Still a friend of mine
        Deep waters
        I hear your name
Don’t you worry ’bout a thing

        Swing out sister
        You on my mind
        Twilight world
        am I the same girl
        Forever blue

        Lisa Stansfield
        All around the world
        The real thing

      2. Some interesting choices there – leave them with me and I’ll see what I can do. I did start Breakout many years ago but never got around to finishing it. Time may be a great healer here, who knows! Cheers, James

  2. Hi James. I’m a relative beginner to the bass – had a few brief stretches in high school and in my 30s when I made halfhearted attempts to pick it up but didn’t stick with it. I’m 43 now and just a few months ago decided that with the pandemic and some unexpected time at home on my hands, now was the time to really dedicate myself. Rocksmith has been a lifesaver, and discovering CDLC was like Christmas. I’ve downloaded nearly 3000 songs including most of yours and I’m having a wonderful time learning. Thank you so much for all the time you’ve spent making these customs. It really is a gift to people like me.

I posted some bass requests in the “CDLC Requests!” folder (pg. 70, jellisjenius) but they quickly got buried under others. I’ll just repost my top 3 and you can check out the others if you have time and interest. I’m thinking of taking a shot at making my own CDLC as well, once I’ve gained more experience playing. Thanks again, you are appreciated.

The Flaming Lips – Flowers of Neptune 6 –
(they have some great basslines and their new album American Head is amazing IMO. I’d go for just about anything from that album or The Soft Bulletin, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, At War With the Mystics, or Embryonic.)

Mutemath – You Are Mine –
(amazing and criminally overlooked band that has the finest rhythm section I’ve seen live. You Are Mine is a chill but mesmerizing tune and one of my favs but I’d be thrilled with anything from their catalog. Typical from the same album is maybe their most popular song and has a more active driving bassline. I believe both have GuitarPro files on UG.)

My Morning Jacket – Only Memories Remain –
(another overlooked band that puts on an incredible live performance. more known for memorable guitar riffs, eg, One Big Holiday, but they have some solid bass grooves as well)

    1. Hi Jeremy, many thanks for your comments. I’ll take a look at the tracks you’ve mentioned. There are a couple by The Flaming Lips and Mutemath which I’ve been considering for a while. One warning – if you do decide to enter the murky world of custom creation, be prepared for it to take over your life! Take care and keep playing,
